Building a Sauna from Plan

The modern sauna has never been more accessible. If you want your own sauna and you want to do it in cost effective manner, then buying you own sauna kit and installing it your self is a great option. If you have your doubts about the benefits of the sauna, read about the history of the sauna and why Europeans have been using the sauna for thousands of years.

If you suffer from arthritis or fatigue, or just feel sluggish and tired, then a sauna is great idea. It's also great from people who suffer from colds and flu's. Since I have installed my own sauna, which I built from plan, I can't remember the last time I was actually sick.

When you buy a sauna plan, you then either purchase a kit to go with the plan, or you can look after buying your own timber and components yourself. The cost difference is minimal. Kits are nearly as cheap as buying parts separately because you are buying sauna parts in bulk and the savings are passed onto the consumer.

Purchasing your own components (timber, fittings, heater, flooring, etc) will give you a great deal of flexibility in terms of having a custom look and feel, but again, most of the time, sauna kits have been designed by people with years of experience. You don't need a lot of space for a sauna, or if you are planning on building or designing your own house, you can utilize a space as small as 4 by 3 feet. You could even get a barrel sauna, or portable sauna which you could store in your garage or similar. It's not as cozy, but it will still do the same job.

If you are intent on building a sauna from a plan, then search around. You shouldn't be paying through the nose for sauna plans. They are relatively simple and with a bit of patience you can even draw up your own sauna plans. A lot of places will now even review your plans for you and put together a custom kit which you can install yourself.

To find out more about building from plans, read the installing your own sauna kit section which will give you more detailed information about sauna plans and tips for installation (whether you are using a kit, or have purchased the sauna components yourself).
